Processing time

Usually the same day or 1–2 days from receipt of all documents.

Before you apply

Applicants may apply for attestation of original documents issued by authorities in India, such as certificates of birth, death or marriage, affidavits, educational documents and diplomas, or driving licences, for submission to Chilean authorities.

To obtain the Embassy's attestation, the document must first be attested (apostilled) by the Attestation Cell, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi: see MEA apostille. A document issued by a district or state authority in India without MEA attestation cannot be attested directly by the Embassy, and requests to bypass the apostille procedure will not be entertained.

You may also apply for attestation of a photocopy of such a document, provided the original is apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs. This service may be applied for by post.

Documents required

  • Copy of the Indian passport or OCI card (first and last page) of the applicant, self-attested.
  • The document to be attested.
  • For attestation of a photocopy, the original document must be presented for verification at the time of application; it will be returned after authentication.
