For first time in Chile, a high level Trade Delegation of over 40 representatives from 32 companies of the Indian pharmaceutical sector will visit Chile from 7th to 10th March, 2012.

As it is well known, the Indian pharmaceutical industry is one of the largest in the World. The total turnover is US$ 20 billion, with domestic consumption amounting to US$ 12.6 billion and exports to USA, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa amounting to US$ 8 billion.

India has a supreme quality, economical and experienced pharmaceutical industry. Besides, India is currently in the field of Bio-technology, Bio-informatics, Clinical Essays, etc., showing a large progress in terms of infrastructure, technology and industrial output.

The United Nations Organization sources most of its medicines from India for distribution in Africa and other parts of the world.

The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Chile, Santiago Chamber of Commerce and Indo Chilean Chamber of Commerce are organizing a Business Round at Prieto-Bulnes hall, Hotel Crowne Plaza, from 09.00 to 12.30 hrs. and from 15.30 to 18.00 hrs. on Thursday 8th March, 2012, and an inaugural session followed by lunch from 13.00 to 15.00 hrs. on the same day.
