The Embassy of India cordially invites you and your team to welcome and felicitate Ms. Kaamya Karthikeyan, a very successful and talented young mountaineer from India, who is visiting Chile in December 2024. Ms Kaamya, well known as the Indian and 2nd youngest girl globally to scale Mt Everest, has now embarked on the ultimate adventure challenge - The Explorers Grand Slam- a mission to scale the highest peak on each continent and ski to the North and South Poles. She is set to become the youngest person in the world to accomplish this challenge.

Ms. Kaamya is travelling to Punta Arenas, Chile this summer to begin her attempt of summiting the highest peak in Antarctica and if successful, she would become the youngest girl in the world to summit the highest peak on all seven continents.

She has many laurels to her credit at a very young age. Here are a few to mention (her detailed resume and mountaineering & Skiing experience are attached):

• Youngest Indian and the second youngest girl in the world to summit Mt. Everest from Nepal side at 16 years of age
• Youngest girl in the world to summit Mt. Aconcagua, highest peak of South America at 12 yrs of age
• Youngest person in the world to ski down from Mt. Elbrus, highest peak of Europe at 10 yrs of age
• Youngest Non-American to summit Mt. Denali, highest peak of North America at 14 yrs of age
• Youngest girl in the world to summit a peak above 6000 Meters at nine years of age

In recognition of her unrelenting efforts, the class XII student at Navy Children School, Mumbai has been awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Shakti Puraskar (Prime Minister National Child Power Prize), the highest national award for citizens below 18 yrs and has also won accolades from the Hon. Prime Minister in his monthly radio interaction program Mann-ki-Baat (Heart Talk), with citizens of India. While Kaamya has been sharing her story widely to inspire her audience to adopt a healthy life, the extensive media coverage of her accomplishments has surely inspired millions, especially girls, to take to the outdoors.
