OCI Services

 

(Essential Basic Information on OCI Services)

 

  1. All applications submitted to the Embassy of India should have attached a bank receipt showing that the required fee amount (as shown in the Schedule of Fee) has been deposited in the Embassy of India’s Bank Account which is as follows:-

  1. Please note that no cash/cheque/credit cards/ debit cards or any other form of payments will be accepted by the Embassy
  2. It may please be noted that fees, once paid, will not be refunded, even if the application is withdrawn or service is denied/not rendered.
  3. When submitting your application to the Embassy, please fill in all the information online in the appropriate form, upload necessary photos/docs and then take a print out of the form, sign it and bring the hard copy to the Embassy with all supporting documents (originals as well as photocopies) including the fee payment Receipt.

(NOTE - The original supporting documents have to be presented for examination which will be returned after scrutiny.)

  1. Please note that the any application which is incomplete in any way will not be accepted. Therefore, please check that you have filled in all columns correctly, signed wherever required, and attached all required supporting documents.


OCI SERVICES

  1. New Registration:
  • Fill in the appropriate form online by visiting the link: https://ociservices.gov.in/
    (Before filling in the form please read the given instructions carefully)

  • Upload (i) Photograph (size not less than 5x5 cm with 80% coverage of face). It should have a plain light color background (not white) without the border with a front view of the person's head and shoulders showing the full face in the middle of the photograph) and (ii) signature/thumb impression in case of baby (Signature/Thumb impression should be confined to the prescribed box)
  •  Upload the following documents:
    • (a) Proof of present citizenship- a copy of applicant’s valid Foreign Passport with validity of a minimum of 6 months at the time of submission of application

      (b) Evidence of relationship like Copy of Birth/Marriage certificate, as the case may be
      (Foreign documents like Birth/Marriage certificate are to  be uploaded only after getting them translated in English and apostilled by the Chilean Foreign Office)

      (c) Documents in support of the PIO status of the applicant i.e. Evidence of self or parents or
      grandparents or great grandparents being a citizen of India like a copy of Indian Passport/OCI/PIO.

  • The printout of the application to be sent to the Embassy after appending signature.
  • The original Foreign Passport and Birth or Marriage certificate, as the case may be, to be sent for verification purposes.
  • Self-attested copy of Passport & RUT
  • Attach fee payment receipt after depositing the appropriate fee in Embassy’s account. The fee schedule is available on the Embassy’s website.
  • The documents enclosed with the application should be self-attested.
  • Full postal address with a contact number in order to post the OCI card upon receipt from India.
  • The above-mentioned documents may be sent to the Embassy by Post or delivered physically.

 

  1. Re-issue of OCI Card on
  2. (Please go through the guidelines mentioned below in paras (a) to (e) before applying for Re-issue of OCI Card on Change of passport):

    •   An OCI cardholder required to get his/her OCI Card re-issued once when a new Passport is issued after completing 20 years of age so as to capture facial features on attaining adulthood. Only updation in the system will be required on issuance of new passport as mentioned below.
    •    An OCI cardholder will be required to upload (i) a copy of new Passport containing photo of the passport holder and (ii) a latest photograph on the online system under OCI Misc. Services each time a new Passport is issued upto 20 years of age and once after completing 50 years of age within three months of receipt of new Passport.
    •   In the case of those who have been registered as OCI Cardholder as spouse of foreign origin of an OCI cardholder or as spouse of foreign origin of a citizen of India, the OCI Cardholder shall upload following documents on the online system under OCI Misc. Services each time a new Passport is issued within three months of receipt of new Passport :
      (i) a copy of new Passport containing photo of the passport holder (ii) a latest photograph (iii) a declaration by the OCI Cardholder and his/her Indian spouse or OCI Cardholder spouse to the effect that their marriage is still subsisting and (iv) copy of the Indian passport of the Indian spouse / passport and OCI card of the OCI cardholder spouse.
    •   Immediately on uploading of the documents, an email will be auto sent by the system to the OCI Cardholder confirming that the documents have been successfully uploaded. After necessary approval, an acknowledgment through email will be automatically sent to the OCI Cardholder informing that the updated details have been taken on record. There is no fee involved in this process.
    •   There will be no restrictions on the OCI cardholder to travel to India during the period from the date of issue of new passport till the date of final acknowledgment of his/her documents in the online system.
    •   How to apply for Re-issue of OCI Card

      (i) Fill in the appropriate form online visiting the link: https://ociservices.gov.in/
      (Before filling in the form please read the given Instructions carefully)



      (ii) Upload (i) Photograph (size 5x5 cm with 80% coverage of face). It should have plain light color background (not white) without the border with front view of person's head and shoulders showing the full face in middle of the photograph) and (ii) Signature / thumb impression in case of baby (Signature/Thumb impression should be confined to the prescribed box)


      (iii) Upload the following documents:

      •    For re-issue of OCI card on change of Passport- Self attested copy of New Foreign Passport, Old Passport and OCI card

      •   For re-issue of OCI card on Change of personal particulars- Self attested copy of OCI card and Documents in support of new particulars.

      •   For re-issue of OCI card in lieu of lost OCI card- Self attested copy of lost OCI card and Police report/FIR lodged with police authorities regarding theft/loss of OCI card.



      (iv) Take print out of the application and sign at the space provided (Thumb impression in case of baby).



      (v) The original documents like new Foreign Passport, Old Passport and OCI card also to be sent to the Embassy for verification purpose.



      (vi) Attach fee payment receipt after depositing the appropriate fee in Embassy’s account. Fee schedule is available on the Embassy’s website.



      (vii) The above mentioned documents may be sent to the Embassy by Post or delivered physically.



  1. Conversion of PIO Card to OCI Card
    •   Fill in the appropriate form online visiting the link: https://ociservices.gov.in/ (Before filling in the form please read the given Instructions carefully)
    •   Upload (a) Photograph (size not less than 5x5 cm (with 80% coverage of face). It should have plain light color background (not white) without the border with front view of person's head and shoulders showing the full face in middle of the photograph) and (b) Signature / thumb impression in case of baby (Signature/Thumb impression should be confined to the prescribed box)
    •   Upload the following documents: (a) Copy of Foreign Passport (b) Copy of PIO Card
    •   The print out of application form to be sent after appending signature.
    •    The original Foreign Passport and PIO card also to be sent to the Embassy for verification purpose.
    •   Attach fee payment receipt after depositing the appropriate fee in Embassy’s account. Fee schedule is available on the Embassy’s website.
    •   Forwarding letter with contact details-phone/email on which intimation for when OCI card is ready for collection.
    •   The above mentioned documents may be sent to the Embassy by Post or delivered physically.
