On 08 July 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and the Embassy team attended a luncheon hosted by the Chile-India Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile at the the National Congress in Valparaíso. The interaction with Hon. Deputy Daniel Bustos Leal, Chair of the Group, and Hon. Deputies from across Chile's political spectrum provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and reaffirm the shared commitment to further strengthening our bilateral partnership.

On 07 July 2026, visited the National Congress in Valparaíso and held productive interactions with parliamentary leaders and officials, reaffirming the shared commitment of India and Chile to strengthen parliamentary dialogue, institutional cooperation and knowledge partnerships.

On 02 July 2026, participated in the launch of the India Studies Program at the Institute of International Studies, University of Chile. The programme, inaugurated with a keynote lecture by Dr. Devika Misra on "India and Latin America: New Bridges in Times of Change?", marked an important step towards strengthening academic collaboration and promoting greater understanding of India in Chile and the wider Latin American region.

On 02 July 2026, Ambassador welcomed Swamini Prabhaavati and her disciples from the Bhakti Marga organization. Discussions covered the organization's global spiritual outreach and the proposed visit of Satguru Paramahamsa Vishwananda to Chile in 2027, underscoring the role of India's spiritual traditions in fostering closer India-Chile cultural and people to people ties.

On 01 July 2026, Ms. Florencia Burgos, Executive Director of ProHumana, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team. Discussions focused on strengthening India-Chile business linkages, promoting sustainability and responsible business practices, fostering institutional partnerships and leveraging the deep cultural affinities and shared democratic values between the two countries to further enhance bilateral cooperation.

On 29 June 2026, the Embassy participated in a virtual meeting with its partners in the Government of Uttar Pradesh to discuss the 4th Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026, scheduled to be held from 25-29 September 2026. The meeting provided an overview of the trade show and its potential to strengthen international business partnerships. As one of India's premier B2B trade exhibitions, UPITS will showcase opportunities across sectors including agriculture, food processing, textiles, engineering, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, IT and handicrafts. 

On 23 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi participated in the Protocol Reception for the Diplomatic Corps hosted by H.E. President José Antonio Kast at La Moneda Palace. H.E. Paula Estévez Weinstein, Subsecretary of International Economic Relations (SUBREI), accompanied the President on the occasion. Ambassador Joshi had the honour of exchanging greetings with H.E. President Kast and other distinguished dignitaries. The reception provided a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the warm and steadily growing partnership between India and Chile. 

On 22 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi held a meeting with Mr. Pablo Salgado, Director of International Relations at Global Consulting and discussed ongoing bilateral collaborative initiatives in scientific and cultural domains between India and Chile including cooperation in Antarctic research, education and environmental protection. Both India and Chile view Antarctica as a global common, which needs to be protected as per the provisions of the Antarctica Treaty System.

On 22 June 2026, interacted with Mr. Shailesh Vaghasiya, CEO of Gospel Pharmaceuticals, Ahmedabad, India. The meeting explored prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation in pharmaceuticals, facilitating greater market access for Indian pharmaceutical products and supporting stronger India-Chile trade and investment linkages in the healthcare sector. 

Was wonderful to see Indian students pursuing higher education in Chile come together in Santiago to celebrate International Day of Yoga 2026! Their vibrant participation added a special energy to the sessions- blending wellness, cultural exchange and a strong sense of community abroad.

Celebrating the growing cultural connections between India and Chile, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi presented certificates to participants who successfully completed the ICCR-IGNOU Online Hindi Awareness Programme (17 August-6 November 2024), on the sidelines of the International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations in Santiago. Their commitment to learning Hindi reflects a deep interest in India’s language, culture and heritage, while contributing to strengthening the enduring bonds of friendship and understanding between the peoples of India and Chile.

On 21 June 2026, nearly 180 yoga enthusiasts gathered at the Municipal Gymnasium, Las Condes, to celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2026 under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”. In her remarks, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi highlighted yoga as India’s timeless gift to humanity and a pathway to healthier, more balanced lives. The event was graced by Mr. Sebastian de Toro, Chief of Staff and Principal Advisor to Deputy Daniel Bustos Leal, President of the Chile-India Parliamentary Friendship Group. Dynamic yoga sessions by Anadi Yoga and CFT Chilean Academy of Yoga, a captivating Nada Yoga exhibition by Somos India and a meditation session by Brahma Kumaris inspired participants of all ages. Exhibitions showcasing India’s diverse States, tourism, Ayurveda and Khadi transformed the venue into a vibrant celebration of Indian culture. The event concluded with traditional Indian refreshments, reinforcing the enduring bonds of friendship, wellness and cultural exchange between India and Chile.

On 20 June 2026, the Embassy celebrated International Day of Yoga 2026 at the world’s southernmost Hindu temple in Punta Arenas under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”. Organized in collaboration with Templo Hindú Punta Arenas, Fundación Nandwani, ICCR and the Ministry of Ayush, the event brought together members of the Indian diaspora, yoga practitioners and friends of India. The celebration highlighted yoga’s universal appeal as a pathway to health, harmony and well-being, while further strengthening the cultural bonds between India and Chile.

On 18 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team paid a courtesy call on Deputy Daniel Bustos Leal, Member of Chile's Chamber of Deputies and President of the Chile-India Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, at the former National Congress Building in Santiago. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture, parliamentary exchanges, cultural engagement and people to people ties. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening the longstanding friendship and expanding the strategic partnership between India and Chile.

On 16 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team met senior representatives of Chile’s Ministry of Finance to discuss cooperation in financial markets, sustainable finance, investment promotion and regulatory exchanges. The interaction also explored avenues for collaboration with GIFT City, strengthening financial connectivity and institutional partnerships between India and Chile.

On 16 June 2026, visited Cineteca Nacional de Chile, the National Film Archive of Chile,  and held discussions on enhancing India-Chile cultural cooperation through cinema, film preservation, archival collaboration and showcasing the rich cinematic traditions of both countries. The meeting underscored the role of film as a powerful medium for strengthening people to people connections between India and Chile.

On 11 June 2026, Embassy participated in the University of Chile programme highlighting innovation and sustainable energy research. The event featured Prof. Sanjoy Samdarshi of the Central University of Jharkhand and culminated in the signing of an MoU aimed at fostering joint research, academic exchanges and institutional collaboration.

On 10 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team visited SQM Yodo Nutrición Vegetal in Antofagasta during EXPONOR 2026, gaining firsthand insights into Chile's world-leading iodine industry and sustainable mining ecosystem, while exploring avenues for enhanced India-Chile cooperation in critical minerals and industrial innovation.

On 9 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team held a productive meeting with the leadership of the Asociación de Industriales de Antofagasta (AIA) on the sidelines of EXPONOR 2026. The exchange provided valuable insights into Chile’s mining ecosystem, technological innovation and the role of international partnerships in supporting sustainable industrial growth.

During a visit to the BHP Pavilion at EXPONOR 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team engaged with BHP and Infosys representatives to gain insights on how technology and Indian IT expertise are supporting safer, smarter and more efficient mining operations.

On the sidelines of EXPONOR 2026, attended the Asia Night networking event and interacted with industry leaders and business representatives, including ARB Plus, a Punjab-based Indian conveyor belt manufacturer. The engagement underscored the expanding footprint of Indian industry in Chile and the opportunities for collaboration in the mining and industrial sectors.
